NANO HONE Diamond Resin Plate Whetstone, 50 micron DR-50

The NANO HONE Diamon Resin Plates are completely made in their workshop by Hap Stanley from a vegetable fiber resin, which is a bit softer then other resins on the market. This results in less damage to the extremely fine apex of the edge while sharpening, especially at the finer grits. Not only is the resin environmentally friendly, it is also very tough and slightly hydrophobic, resulting in a stone that can be used dry, with a few drops of water, or with a very light oil.

These stones are micron accurate and consistent from start to finish so you know exactly what to expect for the life of the stone. Each stone is color coded for quick and easy reference while sharpening. The best technique when using these stones is to apply pressure while pulling away from the edge as to not cut into the stone and damage the apex.

The 50 micron stone is a great touchup stone for dull knives and woodworking tools that need a bit of love, but don't need thinning or chip removal.
